The Westin Palace Madrid - News - General Manager's Message to you: Our customer

The hotel industry, if developed with a passion that is your own, is a way of life. I grew up in the Hotel du Damier in the Belgian city of Kortrijk since I was born until I began my career in the international hotel industry. My life played out between corridors of rooms, restaurants and banqueting halls, and thus, I had only ever lived in hotels until I met Alicia Romay, my wife, now about 10 years ago.

During 30 years in the same company Starwood Hotels & Resorts, I have worked in 6 countries: Belgium, Djibouti, Mexico, Morocco, Holland and more than 7 years in Spain, the first 4 in the Canary Islands and the latest in Madrid in this historic Palace.

Life in Spain is certainly different and has made me grow in many ways. Attending each client, listen to their needs and understanding what they are looking for in our hotel is for me a true privilege.
